Wrybread's Cavalcade of Whimsy - Upcoming Theatre...

Jun. 3rd, 2008 11:59 am Upcoming Theatre...

I've already posted Bard on the Beach to my Facebook, so I think pretty much everyone on my LJ's already been invited to join me this year, but in case you missed it it looks like a great lineup this year, from King Lear, Shakespeare's Greatest Tragedy, to Twelfth Night, Shakespeare's Greatest Cross-Dressing Mistaken Identity Comedy.  It goes until September, but I'd like to see all four plays if possible, so I was thinking of spacing them out a bit over the summer rather than doing my standard "wait until August/September and then run around seeing them all in under two weeks" routine.  Let me know ASAP if you're in.  Also,

[info]keirandyl just posted to her LJ about Spamalot, the Monthy Python musical coming to town in July.  I had been in two minds about seeing this show as tickets aren't too cheap, at least not Bard on the Beach-level cheap, but I think I'll take the plunge there too as I don't get out to that sort of show as often as I'd like.  Tickets apparently go from $59 upwards, and it's on throughout July.  I had the soundtrack on CD years ago, it should be well worth it.  Let me know if you're interested so we can jump on tickets ASAP.

ETA: Just checked out Krazy, the Comics/Anime/Manga/Video Games Exhibition down at the Vancouver Art Gallery last night.  It's a great exhibit that combines a bunch of old favourites (Dumbo's Pink Elephants and Super Mario World!!!) with a slew of interesting, more off-beat things that I hadn't heard of but now want to read/see.  I highly recommend it, it's here until September and is certainly worth at least a second trip, so let me know if anyone's interested.

Great theatre, a chill job that I enjoy, the possibility of saving up money to go traveling/move out in the Fall...this summer should be pretty sweet.
